Who we are

We are a 4 year old alliance between civil society, private corporations and the media, with the support of international cooperation:


-    We promote sustainability and quality of life in the Colombian Amazon.
-    We seek to position this region in the national and international agendas.


The partners in this alliance are ALISOS (Alliances for Sustainability),the Gaia Amazon Foundation, Etnollano Foundation, Semana Publications and the Colombian Business Council for Sustainable Development (CECODES). Amazon 2030 is supported by AVINA, El Espectador, Caracol television and the Dutch Embassy in Colombia.

Gaia Amazonas Foundation–FGA- was created in 1990, with the purpose of consolidating, in the hands of natives of the Amazon, the management and conservation of these territories in accordance with their rights as established by international agreements and within the scope of the Colombian Constitution and legal regime. 

Etnollano Foundation, created in 1984, it seeks to improve the quality of life of indigenous communities, peasant farmers and marginal urban communities in the Orinoquia and the Amazon regions, and in other areas of Colombia, developing its work through participatory research applied to the design, adaptation, implementation and evaluation of inter-cultural programs in health, ethnical education, environmental education, sustainable production, environmental management and protection of the cultural heritage.

ALISOS (Alliances for Sustainability), was founded in 2010 to promote regional sustainability in Latin America. Its mission is to generate strategic partnerships among social organizations, the productive sector, the media and the State, in order to influence public policies based on quality information and principles of transparency and inclusion. Its main areas of action are climatic change, new governability and a culture of sustainability.

The Colombian Business Council for Sustainable Development  Colombiano para el Desarrollo Sostenible- In Colombia, CECODES is composed of a group of companies that believe that sustainable development is the way to achieve greater profitability, improve people’s quality of life and make a rational use of natural resources. CECODES guides companies in the development and implementation of practices which allow them to continuously improve and achieve a balance between their economic, social and environmental objectives, in harmony with the sustainable development of Colombian society.

Semana Publications S.A. is a modern and thriving communications company, which is led by Semana Magazine, the first publication of the group founded in 1982. Currently it publishes seven magazines and 10 internet portals for the interaction its readers where they can find contents and products.
